Tring Squash Club - Tournaments

Club Tournaments

The Tring Squash Club tournament is held every year towards the end of March and the beginning of April. The various competitions run for two weeks with all the finals being played on the last Friday.

Malcolm Newton meticulously and gratefully organises the whole event. Each game is booked in advance so after the draw has been made (seeding applies where appropriate) each competitor knows who they are playing and when.

Everyone is welcome even encouraged to support the tournament by either entering one or more competitions or by coming along to watch the matches. Finals night is always a great spectacle for players and supporters alike.

Annual Club Tournament Entry

It costs £3.00 per entry into each competition. All games (except handicap*) are best of 5 sets American scoring up to 15 points, requiring 2 clear points if the score reaches 14-14.

Mens Open
Any male member in the club.
Ladies Open
Any female member in the club.
Veterans
Any male 45+ or female 40+ on the day of their first tournament match.
Mens Plate
Anyone knocked out of the first round of the Mens Open
U14
Any member younger than 14 on October 1st of the year of the tournament.
Junior
Any member younger than 19 on October 1st of the year of the tournament.
Mini League
Any member playing in league C or below at the time of entry.
Handicap
*Every entrant will be given a handicap based on their league position. Each game is the best of 3 sets American scoring (as above).

"Counties" Tournament

This is a social team event. Teams are sorted out on the night to ensure everyone gets a good game. After a "Round Robin" the winners take the spoils!

Please find below dates for this years tornament which will be after Easter this year due to Herts league matches. Dates below are in April.

1st round: Thursday 12th , Friday 13th, Saturday 14th

2nd/3rd round: Thursday 19th, Friday 20th

Quarter Finals: Saturday 21st

Semis: Wednesday 25th

Finals: Friday 27th

Junior Coaching

All started again! Please note the Saturday course is now full so please come to the Sunday session!

Adult Coaching

We have received grants to run 2 x 6 sessions for adults. Both adult and ladies courses will start on Saturday 28th January. Ladies at 11am and Men at 12pm. The mens course is aimed at 16-25 year olds and there is no age limit for the ladies.
